healthy balance of both real ingredient and fun lattes that are full of flavor.

My Favorite Coffee Recipes
As a barista, creating unique and delicious coffee flavor combinations is part of my everyday routine. I love a sweet, fun drink just as much as anyone, but since I drink coffee daily, I focus on using real, natural ingredients whenever possible. Most of my go-to recipes are made with simple, healthier swaps that still taste amazing. In this list, you’ll find a mix of healthy coffee recipes made with clean ingredients, along with a few indulgent treat drinks for when you want something a little extra.
Salted Honey Latte
Adding flaky sea salt to a latte makes it ten times better — trust me. It enhances the espresso flavor and balances the sweetness perfectly. And don’t even get me started on honey. Real, local honey is my favorite natural sweetener to use in coffee. Every café usually carries a different local variety, which subtly changes the flavor and makes each drink unique.
If you want a healthy latte made with natural ingredients, this salted honey latte is simple to make at home — or easy to order at your local coffee shop.
How to Make a Salted Honey Latte
- Add honey and a small pinch of flaky sea salt to the bottom of your cup. Adjust the honey depending on how sweet you like your coffee, I do about 2 Tbsp.
- Pour hot espresso shots (or hot brewed coffee) directly over the honey and salt so it melts and blends together.
- If making it iced, add ice to the cup.
- Pour your milk of choice over the top.
- Stir or shake well to fully combine everything.
Enjoy a latte that’s naturally sweetened, perfectly balanced, and made with simple ingredients that taste indulgent while still nourishing your body.

Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso
A brown sugar shaken espresso never misses. Brown sugar and coffee just work. The warm, caramel-like flavor pairs perfectly with bold espresso. If you’re not into flavored syrups, using regular brown sugar is a simple alternative. It’s not perfect, but it’s a more natural option compared to heavily processed syrups.
This is one of my favorite easy coffee recipes to make at home, especially when I want something slightly sweet, frothy, and café-style without complicated ingredients.
How to Make a Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso
- Grab a glass jar or shaker bottle.
- Add 2 Tbsps brown sugar to the bottom (adjust depending on how sweet you like your coffee).
- Pour in fresh espresso shots or strong instant coffee.
- Stir then add about 1/2 cup of ice.
- Optional but highly recommended: add a small splash of whole milk before shaking. I personally think it makes it so much better.
- Shake for 30 seconds to 1 minute. The longer you shake, the frothier and creamier it becomes.
- To serve: Fill your glass with fresh ice. Add your preferred milk. Pour shaken espresso mixture over the top.
You’ll get a naturally sweet, lightly frothy coffee drink that tastes indulgent but uses simple, everyday ingredients. Perfect for a healthier homemade iced espresso option.
Salted Maple Iced Coffee
This recipe works with almost any coffee drink — a latte, shaken espresso, cold brew, or iced coffee. My personal favorite way to enjoy it is on top of an iced Americano with salted maple cold foam. You get the bold, strong coffee flavor from the Americano, plus the sweet, creamy cold foam on top that pairs perfectly with it. Honestly… it’s so good. If you like naturally sweet coffee drinks made with simple ingredients, this one is a must-try.
How to Make a Salted Maple Cold Foam Coffee
Start by adding a small splash of milk to the bottom of your cup.
- Pour in your espresso or your preferred coffee base (espresso, cold brew, or strong brewed coffee all work).
- Add ice and give it a quick stir.
- Add a little more ice and water if you’re making an Americano, leaving about ½ inch of space at the top for the cold foam.
Make the Salted Maple Cold Foam
- In a separate cup: Add 2 oz heavy whipping cream.
- Add 2 oz maple syrup.
- Add a small pinch of salt.
- Use a coffee whisk or frother and whisk until the mixture thickens and becomes fluffy cold foam.
Once it’s nice and creamy, pour the cold foam over your coffee. Finish with a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt on top, take a sip, and enjoy. The salty, sweet maple foam with the strong coffee is seriously the perfect combo. YUM.

Teddy Graham Latte
If you love graham crackers, this latte will be right up your alley. The combination of honey, brown sugar, and cinnamon creates that warm graham-cracker flavor, and adding a few graham cracker crumbs really brings everything together. It’s cozy, slightly sweet, and perfect if you like a honey cinnamon latte but want something with a little extra flavor.
How to Make a Graham Cracker Latte
- Start by adding brown sugar, local or organic honey, and a pinch of cinnamon to the bottom of your cup.
- Pour fresh espresso or your preferred coffee over the ingredients so the heat helps dissolve everything.
- Stir well with a spoon until the honey and sugar are fully mixed.
- Add milk of your choice.
- If making it iced, fill the rest of the cup with ice.
- Stir or shake well so everything blends together.
Finish by sprinkling a few graham cracker crumbs on top for that classic graham cracker flavor.
If you already love a honey cinnamon latte like I do, this recipe is very similar but with a little extra kick that makes it even more fun.
Lucky Charm Latte
This coffee will throw you straight back to childhood. It honestly tastes just like the cereal, sweet, a little nostalgic, and super fun. With notes of toasted marshmallow and cupcake, the flavor combo gives serious Lucky Charms vibes. If you love playful, dessert-style coffee drinks, this one is definitely worth trying.
How to Make a Lucky Charm Latte
- Start by adding cupcake syrup and toasted marshmallow syrup to the bottom of your cup. Adjust the amount depending on how sweet you like your coffee. I usually do 1 oz of each syrup.
- Pour fresh espresso over the syrups and give it a good stir so everything blends together.
- Add milk of your choice.
- If making it iced, add ice and give the cup a shake or stir to mix everything well.
Optional Lucky Charm Cold Foam
If you want to make it extra sweet and creamy, you can add a flavored cold foam on top. In a separate cup:
- Add 2 oz heavy whipping cream.
- Add 1 oz cupcake syrup and 1 oz toasted marshmallow syrup.
- Whisk or froth until it becomes light and fluffy.
Pour the cold foam over your coffee, then finish it off with a few Lucky Charms on top for the full nostalgic touch. Take a sip and enjoy, it’s basically breakfast and coffee in one.
